Training
started 3-4 weeks ago with some riding In Florida and the rest on a trainer in
the basement. Had some great weather and have been pulling both daughters using
a tag-a-long then a trailer attached. So it’s around 130lbs. The trips are very
short, next week if the weather is good, a longer trip on the Silver Comet
Trail for a 10-15 mile ride.
This is a daily blog of my Natchez Trace Parkway cycle adventure 2013. I cover my daily activities and anomalies through out 10 days of 500+ miles of riding on the Natchez Trace Parkway. Some days were average days of riding and then they were the days that made it all worth while of a true adventure in Humanity and defying Mother Nature's wrath. I hope you enjoy the read and please leave comments. Blog entries are not in order, start out with "T - Minus 1 Day" and then Day 1, Day 2 and so on.
Natchez Trace Tour Update
It's
less than sixty days to start; a few changes were made to the initial itinerary
based on feedback from crazyguyonabike.com listing. The first
change is the end point will be Baton Rouge, then take the LASWIFT bus from BR to
NOLA which is a bike friendly bus. This will shorten the trip by 2 days, so a
total of 7 riding days. The other change is we will be starting on March 16th
and arriving 22nd. Currently the top of priority on the list is to better
prepare for rainy and cool weather, so purchasing a rain suite, waterproof cycle
booties and gloves are taking precedence over waterproof panniers. So it look like the 30 year old panniers will
get one more go around, the only thing to do is find a way to waterproof them (Trash
bags come to mind).
